Preformed mono-, di-, and tetrameric manganese oxide clusters are supported either by non-aqueous impregnation or by exchange onto hybrid supports. Subsequent XAS and UV-vis shows control over resulting nuclearity of the supported oxide, and thus selectivity in selective oxidation with H2O2, by precursor choice.
