The cis,cis,cis-dicarbonyl-dichloro-bis (2-ferrocenyl - 1,8-naphthyridine) ruthenium(II)  showed to be an active catalyst in the hydrogenation of N-benzylideneaniline by hydrogen transfer. The compound exhibits high stability during the catalytic process and conversion values between 89-33% were found in 6 hours of reaction for a substrate/catalyst ratio of 200/1 and 400/1
