This study shows the use of isothermal titration calorimetry to quantify the adsorption of transition metal complexes on hydrated metal oxide surfaces. The correlation between adsorption energy and nanoparticle size is explored which will allow for the synthesis of catalysts with optimal activity and extended lifetime.
