P-Tu-58 Structure-activity studies of MgO-ZnO catalysts for the transesterifcation of soy oil with methanol

The MgO-ZnO mixed oxides are promising catalysts synthesized by CO2-EtOH precipitation method and could potentially replace the homogeneous bases used in the current biodiesel production. This study explains the significant effect of Mg to Zn mole ratio on the MgZnO lattice formation and the resultant effect on the surface basicity.
