The natural mineral Olivine ((Mg,Fe)2SiO4) is a promising bed material used for indirect biomass gasification, because of its heat-transferring and tar-cracking capabilities.  We present the physical characterization of this material and show that we can use these results to improve the performance of Olivine as a biomass gasification catalyst.
