A new highly active catalyst was designed using DFT modelling for selective hydrogenation of acids and amides under remarkably low temperatures and pressures (5-20 bar , 60-130 °C). This achievement will have a significant impact on pharma, fine and bulk chemical production all of which require these very difficult hydrogenations.
