A new catalyst system with the combination of Pt-Cu on a Mg(Al)O mixed oxide support has been developed and tested in the aqueous phase reforming (APR) of glycerol. The new catalyst system outperforms benchmark catalysts in terms of both hydrogen selectivity and formation of very low amount of undesired alkanes.
