Synergistic Catalytic Effect of Ionic Liquids on Cycloaddition Reaction

This paper presents the synergistic effect in the catalytic system of ionic liquids with OH group for the synthesis of cyclic carbonate from carbon dioxide and epoxide. This work provides a molecular level understanding of hydrogen bond on the reaction and forms the basis of design of ionic liquids.
