Catalysis on Singly Dispersed Bimetallic Sites

Catalysts of singly dispersed bimetallic sites M₁A_n were synthesized. Isolated M₁A_n sites exhibit much higher activity and selectivity than a M-A alloy nanoparticle catalyst consisting of continuous bimetallic sites. This distinct difference demonstrates that isolation of bimetallic sites of a metal nanoparticle could significantly improve catalytic performance of bimetallic catalysts.
