Green Catalytic Production of HMF Using Commercial Hydrotalcites in Pure Water: A Step of Transformation of Bark

This preliminary work studied the catalytic behavior of commercial hydrotalcites as a potential catalyst in the transformation of glucose, into HMF in water, with high selectivity and low cost. A process for the transformation of bark into chemicals in a pilot plant scale is being designed using these solid catalysts.
