Higher aqueous phase reforming site time yields and hydrogen selectivity of PtRe/MWCNT over PtRe/C can be explained by the distribution of Pt and Re metals.  Characterization of the working catalyst by operando x-ray absorption spectroscopy has determined the role of metal distribution in promoting selective C-C and C-O bond breaking.
