Developing Electrocatalysts for H2 Evolution and Their Integration Onto Semiconductors for Direct Solar Water-Splitting

We have recently prepared active, earth-abundant electrocatalysts for H₂ evolution in a strong acidic environment  based on transition metal sulfides and phosphides. Here, we describe our efforts to develop those catalysts as well as to integrate them onto semiconductors for direct solar photoelectrochemical (PEC) H₂ production.
