P-Tu-B-181 Insights into Coke Formation on Supported Pt Catalysts By in-Situ TEM

A careful investigation into deposition of coke onto supported platinum catalysts by in-situ TEM is presented in order to elucidate the carbon growth mechanism that leads to deactivation of catalysts used for hydrocarbon transformations. Supporting techniques used to reaffirm conclusions include ex-situ HRTEM and STM.
