We report a novel synthesis approach for amorphous silica-alumina (ASA) with well-tailored Bronsted and Lewis acid site ratio. This utilizes atomic layer deposition to tailor both porosity and acid speciation, providing exquisite control over catalytic behavior and enabling systematic studies for elucidating the long-debated Bronsted acid structure in ASA.
