Nature-inspired approaches to confinement of active sites inside of mesoporous inorganic supports and inside of organic ligand shells exhibit great potential in tuning the activity and selectivity of a catalytic active site in a manner similar to enzymes.    We explore the catalytic consequences of these types of active site confinement.
