The L-pipecolic acid was produced by one-step photo-catalysis from L-lysine in aqueous solution through redox-combined reactions. The in situ infrared spectroscopy (IR) associated with mass spectroscopy (MS) were used to identify adsorbed species and their reaction pathways. The proposed pathway will be further supported by UV-vis, NMR and GC studies.
