Small amounts of noble metals (1% wt Pd, Rh and Pt) were added to 30% wt Ni2P/SiO2 and provided a decrease of 200 oC in its synthesis temperature. The reduction only occurs when phosphates and noble metals particles are in close contact, provided by impregnation but not by physic mixture.
