P-W-B-142 Computational Study of Hydrodeoxygenation of Lignin Compounds on Pt(111)

We provide insights into the reaction pathways of HDO of lignin compounds on metal surfaces and the first microkinetic model and successfully compare with experimental results. Our findings provoke the conventional wisdom of direct deoxygenation or Brønsted acid/metal bifunctional catalysis and support unexplored mechanisms through activation of suitable functional groups.
