Ballroom B (Lawrence Convention Center)
TDA Research is developing carbon sorbents to remove Pd-catalyst contamination to <0.5 ppmw for parenteral pharmaceuticals. Unlike conventional carbons, these are saturated with N, P and S for strong binding to Pd. Furthermore, carbons use mesopores (2-50 nm) to trap nano-suspensions, not amenable to ligand exchange by conventional metal scavengers.
