We successfully demonstrated enhanced thermal stability of a Pd/Al₂O₃ by depositing protective ZrO₂layers by Atomic Layer Deposition. More importantly, after calcining to high temperatures (T = 800^oC), the activity of the ALD-modified catalyst remained unaffected for methane oxidation, while the activity for the unmodified catalyst was significantly lower.
