P-Tu-B-19 Enhanced Thermal Stability of Pd/Al2O3 By Coating with ZrO2 Using Atomic Layer Deposition

We successfully demonstrated enhanced thermal stability of a Pd/Al2O3 by depositing protective ZrO2 layers by Atomic Layer Deposition.  More importantly, after calcining to high temperatures (T = 800oC), the activity of the ALD-modified catalyst remained unaffected for methane oxidation, while the activity for the unmodified catalyst was significantly lower.
