P-Tu-B-17 Study of DMSO Driven Enhanced Enentosectivity

The comparison of the asymmetric epoxidation of styrene   catalyzed by 1-( α- amino benzyl) -2 – napthol coordinated with Cu (II) carried out in ACN and DMSO revealed a decisive role of solvent on the enantioselectivity, giving 80% ee in DMSO against 28% ee in ACN for R-styrene epoxide.
