O-Th-407-5 Active-Site Engineering of Au Nanoparticles for CO2 Reduction

We show that when gold is nanostructured, its activity for CO2 reduction over the competitive H2 evolution reaction can be attributed to the type of active site exposed. By engineering nanoparticles that maximize reactive edge sites, we can achieve very high mass activity and selectivity for CO evolution.
