We report the hydrodeoxygenation activity of bulk phosphides, i.e., WP, MoP and Ni2P. The materials are composites (carbon-phosphide nanoparticles) with high surface area and varying exposed metal surface. The understanding of the intrinsic hydrogenation and acid functionality of the studied phosphides allows optimizing catalytic performance and stability.
