Catalytic Partial Oxidation of CH4 has been investigated on Rh/ZrO2 and Rh/Ce-ZrO2 catalysts. The samples need a conditioning period to achieve stable operating conditions. The conditioning step is connected to a rearrangement of the catalyst surface, investigated by TPR/TPO and chemisorption analysis. High conversion and selectivity are achieved.
