Effect of catalyst support for efficient APR process is discussed. Pt/AlOOH is demonstrated to be stable catalyst support and enhancing H2 selectivity from polyol feedstocks compared to Pt/ZrO2 and Pt/C. However, Pt/C is more efficient catalyst when converting more complex feeds, such as hydroxyacetone, due to its resistance to coking.
