P-W-B-228 Oxidation over Pd Model Surfaces - a Near-Ambient Pressure XPS and DFT Study

CO oxidation over Pd(100) and Pd75Ag25(100) was studied using near ambient X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, quadropole mass spectrometry, as well as first principles based microkinetics to elucidate the nature of the active Pd surface. Reversed hysteresis kinetic effects are observed that can be attributed to changes in the surface composition.
