The HDO of stearic acid is a novel approach to produce hydrocarbon fuels to reduce dependency on crude oils. Moreover, highly active nickel-molybdenum is a low cost catalyst compared to novel metals. The present work is focused on scientific understanding of role of calcination/reduction temperature on performance of the catalysts.
