Mechanistic Insights into the CO2 Activation on Metal Catalysts

We found that the stronger is the metal-O interaction, the lower is the CO2 dissociation barrier, thus making this route more favorable over the parallel hydrogenation path. As a result, the dominant reaction pathway for r-WGS changes among the metals and, in turn, a unique catalyst descriptor cannot be identified.
