The prototypical Pt-Pb and Pd-Pb and the newly-developed Pt-HHDMA and Pd-HHDMA catalysts are confronted in nitroarene and alkyne hydrogenation. Flow-chemistry kinetic tests, coupled with advanced characterizations, theoretical calculations, and reactor simulations, enable the understanding of the structure of the catalysts and their performance. Access constraints of hybrid systems are also addressed.
