P-W-B-32 Transient Bimodal Particle Size Distributions during Pt Sintering on Alumina and Silica

Transmission electron microscopy is employed to study Pt particle size distributions on alumina and silica supports as a function of time and temperature.  As a common feature, transient bimodal size distributions are observed. A theoretical model is put forth that relates the observed bimodality with surface heterogeneity.
