Our in-situ study of size selected Pt nanoparticles on commerical alumina support indicates that Ostwald ripening is dominant process of metal coarsening during high temperature aging under reducing conditions, and that size selection of Pt nanoparticles can provide a useful way of suppressing this process in practical situations.
