Hexagonally-organized mesoporous ZnCl2/Al2O3 have been prepared via one-pot process, and compared to those synthesized by conventional two-step process. Methyltrioxorhenium was supported on both materials, showed better catalytic performances for methyl-oleate metathesis using the newly synthesized supports. Enhanced properties were investigated by XRD, BET, TEM, SEM, EDX, XPS and MAS-NMR analysis.
