The hydrogenation of MIBK to MP-ol and MP was reported recently in gas phase reaction. Liquid phase MIBK hydrogenation is an attractive route to replace gas phase hydrogenation and avoid high temperature and pressure. Almost 13% MIBK conversion was obtained with 98% selectivity towards 2-MP-ol after 4h using Ru-TUD-1 catalyst.
