Ethanol Carbonylation over Rh Based Catalysts

Methanol carbonylation is a well studied and commercialized process, however, higher alcohol carbonylation has comparatively very few reports. Our work focuses on ethanol carbonylation to yield propionates over supported Rh based catalysts. We use spectroscopic tools coupled with isotopic labeling experiments and catalytic tests to understand the ethanol carbonylation system.
