We synthesized Fe@FexOy/Pd bimetallic nanoparticles though using different molar ratios of Fe@FexOy nanoparticles to Pd2+. The results show that different molar ratios lead to different morphologies of the resulting bimetallic nanoparticles. In situ XANES reveal that Fe@FexOy nanoparticles are effective reductants and supports in the formation of bimetallic nanoparticles.
