Based X-ray nano-tomography data we developed an analytical approach evaluating changes in the macro-pore network of single FCC particles due to metal deposition. Our findings elucidate one critical factor of catalyst failure in this industrially important system. Furthermore, the developed method can be applied to various hierarchically complex porous materials.
