Pd-Ag/Al2O3 egg-shell catalysts with varying Pd/Ag mole ratios were characterized (e.g. CO-Chemisorption, CO-DRIFTS) and tested for selective hydrogenation of acetylene under tail-end conditions. The study support isolated Pd sites being more active for selective acetylene conversion compared to surface ensembles, implicate a structural sensitive reaction.
