Effect of Hydrogen and Propylene Presence on Hydrogen Peroxide Decomposition over Pd

Single step synthesis of H₂O₂ as a benign oxidant is hindered by its decomposition. Undesirable H₂O₂ decomposition can be minimized by selectively introducing C₃H₆ into the reacting mixtures and eliminating H₂ after the reaction. Presence of H₂ enhances H₂O₂ decomposition over Pd catalyst while the presence of C₃H₆ suppresses decomposition.
