Single step synthesis of H2O2 as a benign oxidant is hindered by its decomposition. Undesirable H2O2 decomposition can be minimized by selectively introducing C3H6 into the reacting mixtures and eliminating H2 after the reaction. Presence of H2 enhances H2O2 decomposition over Pd catalyst while the presence of C3H6 suppresses decomposition.
