P-Mo-B-196 Bifunctional Mo3VOx/H4SiW12O40/Al2O3 Catalyst for One-Step Conversion of Glycerol to Acrylic Acid

Abundant glycerol obtained as by-product of bio-diesel production provides low-cost feedstock, which can yield acrylic acid. This conversion can be efficiently achieved by a one-step process. This work reports on Mo3VOx/H4SiW12O40/Al2O3 bi-functional catalysts, aiming to elucidate the nature of the active sites as well as the reaction mechanism.
