A NaAlH4/C nanocomposite has been developed as a transition-metal-free catalyst for C-C multiple bond hydrogenation. The hydrogenation of DPA is used as an illustrative example to show its high activity, selectivity and ability to reduce carbon-carbon double and triple bonds.
