Our aim is to study shape selectivity in zeolite catalysis from an in situ, molecular viewpoint. To this end, we synthesized differently sized fluorescent organic probe molecules and studied their interactions inside and on the edge of zeolite crystals by UV-vis microspectroscopy and confocal fluorescence microscopy.
