The presence of other organic contaminants largely affects the rate constants and optimal process conditions commonly reported in the literature for photocatalytic degradation of individual compounds. This study is relevant for the fundamental understanding of rate limiting steps in photocatalysis and optimization of process conditions for domestic water purification appliances.
