Some commercial bifunctional catalysts were used for C7 hydroisomerisation to evaluate the changes with time-on-stream in the activity, selectivity and manner of deactivation. Results show that pore architecture is the most important factor affecting coke formation, and those catalysts with 3D structures lacking cavities were best able to resist deactivation.
