Pd-Ni/tungstophosphate catalysts produced acrolein from glycerol with yields near 50% at 250°C after 4 h in H2 atmosphere. The Brønsted to Lewis acidity ratio increased with the presence of both Ni and Pd. The more Brønsted acidity than Lewis acidity in the best catalysts was related with good acrolein yields.
