This study focuses on understanding and differentiating the nature of active sites for nitrogen doped carbon nanostructured (CN_x) catalysts as well as iron-nitrogen-carbon (Fe-N-C) catalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction in proton exchange membrane fuel cells.
