The Evidence of Complex Effects of SO2 on the Performance and Durability of Lean NOx Traps

LNT are sensitive to sulfur poisoning. The interactions of sulfur with LNTs can be quite complex, owing to their multi-component, topologically complex structure. In this study, we have investigated SO₂ interaction with a LNT catalyst and were able to reconcile the unexpected experimental findings with the structure of the catalyst.
