O-Tu-Fre-13 Mechansism and Active Sites of Phenanthrene Hydrogenation on Supported NiMoS Catalysts

The effect of Ni on sulfided (Ni)Mo/γ-Al2O3 catalysts was studied by combining IR spectroscopy and kinetic investigations of the hydrogenation of phenanthrene. Differences in the product yields in presence of Ni accompanied by increasing concentration of adsorption sites and –SH groups pointed to different types of catalytically active sites.
