The pore size of the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis cobalt catalyst influences hydrocarbon selectivity to a greater extent than carbon monoxide conversion. The mass transport limitation effect increases resulting in increased H2/CO ratio in catalyst pores, thus, increase in hydrogen concentration on the catalyst surface leading to the hydrogenation of olefins.
