This study reports the successful preparation of Ni based oxygen carrier over γ-Al2O3 with a detail explanation of the chemistry involved in controlling the formation of non-reducible surface spinel at the operating conditions of Chemical looping combustion, which is one of the most promising technology to capture CO.
