Production of Propanediol and Acetol from Glycerol on Cu-Pd/TiO2 Catalysts under Basic Conditions

We report here the valorization of glycerol by aqueous phase hydrogenolysis into acetol and 1,2-PDO, catalyzed by Cu-Pd/TiO₂-X%Na without externally added hydrogen, which is a proposed strategy of active sites different coupling at the molecular scale within the same reactor.
